Today was a very nice, low key Mother’s Day. It started out with breakfast in bed (french toast of course!) and a nice long soak in the bath tub. Of course it sounded like the children were trying to kill each other outside the door but that’s ok! 🙂 P filled the house with pretty flower bouquets and I was able to enjoy some relaxing time this morning to catch up on blog stuff and emails.
We headed out to the farmers market and then while Kiki napped I ran to the plant nursery and picked up a few goodies. Let me tell you, browsing through plants and flowers without having to chase a 2 year old is pure heaven!! I picked out two large healthy blueberry bushes, succulents and hanging flower pots for our covered patio.
I promised A she could help plant and it was nice to get our hands dirty and A and I talked about grey water. We ended up setting out our buckets for some rain that might hit later this week. She is so excited and keeps telling me she can’t wait for it to rain so she can water her fruit! Grey water collection may sound like a hassle but it’s actually quite easy. Here are a few articles about grey water if you want to easy some of the water restrictions in this insane drought.
I hope everyone who celebrates had a lovely Mother’s Day!
