We are so grateful to live in the Bay Area because it’s an area that has plenty to do. One of my favourite things to do is to head up to Napa and Sonoma to get some rest and relaxation. Everyone goes to Napa and Sonoma for red and white varietals but did you know they have several wineries that pour sparkling wine? Here are the best sparkling wine locations in Napa & Sonoma!
Mums Napa is located directly on the Silverado trail in Sonoma. It’s a gorgeous site with the bonus addition that’s an art gallery in the winery. The views are stunning from the deck, they overlook Mumm grounds but it is slightly elevated so you get a good view of the surrounding hills. I love that the Mumm menu has different flights for sparkling wines but also some small bites to order. Tasting flights start at $20 and for first-time visitors to Napa, this is an excellent place to start.
Frank Family Vineyard
I love Frank Family for its sparkling wines but also for it’s warm inviting tasting room. Pourers are friendly and ready to give recommendations on stores and restaurants in the area. After we told our pourer that we were celebrating our anniversary, he poured me a glass of their sparkling rose and I ended up buying two bottles! Tasting can start at $40 but it’s worth the trip for the lovely grounds and the friendly people.
Domaine Carneros is a sparkling wine house located in Sonoma. The tasting room is a large Chateau with tables set out on the patio. The views are gorgeous, the food tasty and the wine worth fighting the crowds for. Make reservations and try to go on a weekday. On the weekends the narrow lane to get to the winery gets backed up.
Domaine Chandon is another gorgeous location with a large outdoor tasting area. We found this one not to be overly warm and welcoming but it was also really busy so that could have been the difference. The location is just outside of Yountville so we brought over several desserts from nearby Bouchon Bakery and ate our snacks with our tasting in a pretty outside area with lots of tables.
