No matter what age you are, Disney’s Aulani is a magical experience. But in order to enjoy yourself to the fullest, I firmly believe that you have to dress comfortably for the resort. Here is what to pack when dressing for Disney’s Aulani Resort!
1. Pack lightly
Swimsuits and coverups reign here! Although there are a few nicer restaurants that you may want to pack a few nicer pieces for, the majority of activities at Aulani require a swimsuit. It can be very hot and humid at the resort as it’s located on the West Side of Oahu. I’ve found that light cotton coverups seem to work best when not in the pool.
Here is a great cover-up option from Amazon for Women!

2. Add some Disney flair!
One thing I love about Disney’s Aulani resort is that it just doesn’t scream Disney. The resort has many wonderful authentic Hawaiian touches with a hint of some fun Disney characters. We usually pack fun Disney themed swimsuits like these adorable Minnie swimsuits from Old Navy.
Amazon also has fun options for swim trunks like this cool Star Wars pair.
3. Bring shoes for the hot pavement
The pavement around the pools gets HOT! Make sure to bring sandals or comfortable waterproof flip-flops (or slippahs.) Reefs or Havaianas are our go-to shoe. Here are some cute Disney options!
I also like these Reefs for a cute but durable sandal!
4. Hats are a must!
Sun hats for all are a good idea. The sun beats down several hours of the day and there isn’t much shade in the pool area. There isn’t any shade (unless you pay for a cabana) in the beach area so bring hats because, in the Hawaiian sun, skin burns quickly!
5. Bring a nice outfit (but only if you are going to try one of the upscale restaurants!)
I packed sundresses and a collared shirt for P because we wanted to go out to one nice dinner. Otherwise, tank tops, cotton shorts, and flip-flops worked well for the entire family when we went to casual eateries.
