of the house. It’s much cooler on even the hottest days and fans help
move air around so it’s not too stuffy. Another change is how updated
and modern the house looks from the outside.
I hope everyone’s week has been going well. I’ve been slowly crossing off some items on the house to do list. Here a glimpse at the new patio that was installed a week ago.
I live in an area where thrift shops are very expensive compared to other places in the US. So imagine my surprise when I scored not one but two beautiful mirrors for $15! This was a prime candidate for a makeover, and I knew that a pretty white but slightly chippy finish would be perfect.
Here is the one of the mirrors that I hauled home.
I love the final product. Not perfect, in fact in person some of the gold peeks through but I like it that way; shabby but perfect!

This post is participating in Metamorphosis Monday!
OK so lets recap shall we?
We bought our townhouse from a single male bachelor who went very cheap on everything. Blah brown carpet, white tile everywhere basically any upgrade that would have cost anything he did not want. I envisioned a place that I cold relax and read, a place that was feminine but with no pink per hubbys request.
Here is a snapshot of the master bedroom when the old owner had it. Mattress on the floor? Dirty clothes everywhere? Stay classy Mr _____!
I should also say that this is the same person that had carpet in the bathrooms. Gross.
Here is a snapshot of the room now. Do you spot the DIY side tables and corkboard? Also I went thrifting and found a matching milk glass vase!
Bedding from target.

Chandelier from Home depot
To do list:
•Buy curtains (I’m on the hunt!)
•Buy matching Euro pillows from Target
•Find some way to close off the entrance to the bathroom
•Rip out carpet, install cherry floors
•Find space and perfect chair to lounge in
Oh and I was trying to play with the lighting on my camera, I promise I will get better!
