The laundry room. I can’t even express how gross this room was when we first bought the house. The floor was grimy, the walls were tore up and that horrifying door although solid, was a complete eye sore.
We first installed new laminate floors to replace the gross and cracked linoleum.
And here it is now!
I’m sorry for the weirdly cropped pictures but this room is so small it’s hard to get a good angle for ANY place in the room! We painted the doors, added cheapo cabinets from Lowes (we paid $5!!), hooks and a few peices on the wall so that they were so bare. I love how the blue just pops when next to the grey!
The walls are Martha Stewarts Cumulus Cloud. I don’t have the color name for the door because it was an custome “Oops” paint from Home Depot. I’m working on a message center to put near the door and a table to go over the washer and dryer but for now, I don’t actually hate being in here to work on laundry.
What do you think?
Hooks and Cabinets from Lowes
Washer board and frame are vintage
Schoolhouse light is from Home Depot
Floor is tuscan sunrise from Home Depot
One of the biggest challenges in trying to get a new nursery together was the lack of storage in the room. There is no closet in the room which means we had to creative. I knew a large armoire was the answer and I looked for months before finding something cheap enough and well built to last on Craigslist. We bought this for $40.
Sorry for the bad lighting, I ended up taking this picture at night and with the chandelier created shadows overhead. Overall, it was a time consuming project but since I knew exactly what I wanted and couldn’t find it in stores I just bought used and remade it to suit my needs. It’s now perfectly pretty in pink!Linking up to:
Does anyone else just wander through thrift stores? I spotted this table under a pile of old magazines and almost walked by without a second glance. I loved the legs and the simple carving detail so I figured it was a great candidate for a makeover. And then when I brought the tag to the counter, that particular day they were having an additional 40% off. Score!
Before the very important cleaning and sanding steps.
