We’ve moved around the master bedroom a bit and I wanted to post an update since I realized I never posted what we did with the room. Here is a photo of how it looked when we purchased the house. Black stains on the carpet, yellow walls and small windows. This isn’t the actual master bedroom but it’s so much larger than the actual master that we decided to move our furniture into here.
The master bedroom is the next project that I’m in the midst of tackling. This is what it looked like when before we moved in.
The orange carpet was immediately replaced with beautiful dark wood and the walls were painted Cumulus Cloud by Martha Stewart. I know that we need at least one more smaller dresser to handle all of our clothes and new closet door since the old ones were removed…they were gross.
I thought I’d go with a white chandelier like before but one say I wandered into Z Gallerie and just about fell over at this stunning chandelier. At 249.99 it’s not exactly budget friendly so I’m still on the hunt for something cheaper but equally beautiful.
I want to sew a few throw pillows for the bed, get decent nightstands, some lamps, etc. My goal is to be somewhat finished in the next two weeks. Because the floors and the walls are already done, I think I can polish off everything else in a short amount of time!
Here are some inspiration pics from pinterest!
Working on the msater bedroom is an ongoing process. Since we don’t have an office in this house, I needed a small space to store my laptop and store office supplies. I found this solid wood desk on Craigslist for a great price. There was a small crack in the top that I filled in with wood glue. Sanded, primed, sanded again and then finished with a semi glossy white!
Here are the details:
Desk $25 on Craigslist
Paint: Behr’s hushed white (leftover from cabinets)

OK so lets recap shall we?
We bought our townhouse from a single male bachelor who went very cheap on everything. Blah brown carpet, white tile everywhere basically any upgrade that would have cost anything he did not want. I envisioned a place that I cold relax and read, a place that was feminine but with no pink per hubbys request.
Here is a snapshot of the master bedroom when the old owner had it. Mattress on the floor? Dirty clothes everywhere? Stay classy Mr _____!
I should also say that this is the same person that had carpet in the bathrooms. Gross.
Here is a snapshot of the room now. Do you spot the DIY side tables and corkboard? Also I went thrifting and found a matching milk glass vase!

To do list:
•Buy curtains (I’m on the hunt!)
•Buy matching Euro pillows from Target
•Find some way to close off the entrance to the bathroom
•Rip out carpet, install cherry floors
•Find space and perfect chair to lounge in
Oh and I was trying to play with the lighting on my camera, I promise I will get better!
