Disney Aulani Area Grocery Stores: Your Go-To Guide 2024
Disney’s Aulani Resort is located on the West side of Oahu and arguably, there aren’t too many options nearby to get groceries. Most of the villas have full kitchens which allow guests to cook their own food. Today I’m discussing ways to get groceries near Disney’s Aulani Resort.

Here are Several Ways to Get Groceries Near Disney’s Aulani
If you have a car and are going to go grocery shopping before arriving at the resort stop at:
Safeway (990 Farrington N 400, Kapolei, HI 96707)
Foodland (9850 Kapolei Pkwy, Kapolei, HI 967070,
Target (94450 Kapolei Pkwy Ste 100, Kapolei, HI 96707) in Kapolei.
Kapolei is about a 10-15 minute drive from Aulani and depending on the traffic is a good option for stocking up on snacks and drinks.
FOODLAND
Foodland in Kapolei is my favorite place to shop because their produce tends to be better and the poke bar is delicious! I recommend signing up for the rewards programs at the stores to take advantage of any sale prices.
You don’t have to be a local to become a member of any of the rewards programs at Foodland or Safeway!
Island Country Market
Another option if you don’t have a car, is to walk across the street to the Island Country Market (a fancier ABC Store) to grab essentials. You will find milk, cereal, snacks, and even mini-plate lunches.
You can also find toiletries like toothpaste and sunscreen and your standard trinkets/souvenirs that are less expensive than at the actual Disney Aulani Resort.
The last time we visited Aulani, I headed over to Island Country Market and bought some organic eggs and salsa to make the family breakfast. I was pleasantly surprised at how many organic options they had!
They also had a good selection of alcohol, because as we know alcoholic drinks at Disney Aulani are expensive. We partake while poolside and they are worth the price but if you want to keep your room stocked with wine or beer, Island Country Market has several options!
TARGET
Target at Kapolei is a good place to get groceries but you aren’t going to get the local products like you would if you went to Safeway or a farmer’s market. What I like is that Target has anything you would need for your trip and it’s only about 15 minutes from Disney Aulani Resort.
So you can get groceries, beach supplies, and toiletries and they have a Starbucks in the store.

Costco
With its prime location in West Oahu and familiar warehouse layout, the Costco in Kapolei offers visitors an ideal spot to stock up on groceries and supplies. While Costco does require a membership, tourists can purchase one affordably and even receive prorated refunds when they cancel before leaving Hawaii.
Once inside, travelers will find many familiar Kirkland-brand products in bulk quantities at prices far below most island retailers. Shoppers can stock up on snacks, bottled water, fresh produce, meats, baked goods, alcohol, toiletries, and even get full meals at the famous Costco food court. The sheer variety and savings are a major perk.
Parking may get crowded, but the Costco gas station provides members the cheapest fuel on the island.
From sunscreen and beach gear to bottled water and budget-friendly take-out, Costco lets visitors purchase nearly everything they need for their Hawaiian vacation in one affordable stop. The prime Kapolei location also makes it easy to access before heading to popular Oahu destinations like Ko Olina, Makaha, and Waianae.
For value-seeking travelers, a vacation membership at Costco can certainly pay for itself in grocery savings alone.

Walmart
With its convenient location in the heart of Kapolei, wide selection of items, and 24-hour operation, the Walmart Supercenter gives tourists an accessible, affordable option for stocking up on vacation essentials. This Walmart Supercenter is about 15 minutes from Disney Aulani Resort.
Inside the massive store, travelers can find just about everything needed for a Hawaiian holiday – pantry items, fresh produce, meat and dairy, liquor, beach gear, snacks, pharmacy items, and more. Name brands mix with Great Value items that help visitors stretch their grocery budget further. The one-stop shop offers simplicity for car-less travelers relying on taxis or tours.
Parking is free and plentiful at this Walmart, with grocery carts available right by the entrance.
After a long day exploring Oahu, visitors can pick up ingredients for a simple meal or picnic that can be enjoyed back at their hotel. And if jet lag strikes at 2am, Walmart’s around-the-clock operation means quick, midnight grocery runs are hassle-free.

Down to Earth Organic
For travelers seeking natural, organic, and locally sourced grocery items, Down to Earth Kapolei is an excellent shop. Although smaller than major chains, Down to Earth stocks high-quality fruits and vegetables, fresh seafood, meat and dairy alternatives, bulk foods, beauty products and supplements that align with an eco-conscious lifestyle.
Shoppers can taste Hawaii’s bounty through Down to Earth’s impressive produce department, featuring colorful exotic offerings rarely found on the mainland.
Papaya, guava, rambutan, passionfruit, mangosteen – the variety is unmatched. The market also focuses on locally made goods, from raw honey to shave ice syrup to sustainably caught fish. Foods are clearly labeled with their island origins.

GROCERY DELIVERY SERVICE
If you don’t want to shop for your groceries yourself, then Instacart is a great alternative. If you join, they often have promos like your first delivery is free. Instacart has Costco and Safeway in Kapolei as delivery options.
It’s important to note that some of the prices may be higher on Instacart than in the store but you are paying for convenience. Otherwise, there are several stores nearby to stock up on groceries, just remember that the cost of food is significantly higher in Hawaii than on the mainland.
