Overlooked Christmas Holiday Films You HAVE to Watch!
We all know about the typical holiday movies that play nonstop on cable channels (Elf, A Christmas Story and National Lampoon’s) but it’s my tradition to watch lesser known holiday movies. Here is my list of some overlooked Christmas holiday films that are fun to watch during the season!
Overlooked Christmas holiday films
The Preacher’s Wife

Whitney Houston and Denzel Washington make this heartwarming story of a paster who tries to keep his church open and his family together.
This Christmas
This Christmas is a family comedy with its loaded cast (Regina King, Loretta Devine, Idris Elba) is a fun movie to watch during the holidays. A family matriarch app tempts to get her family together but its a challenge with all of their baggage and drama.
The Family Man

Nicolas Cage, Tea Leoni and Jeremy Piven star in this sweet film about a banking executive who wakes up in an alternate reality and finds himself with a minivan and two young children. The Family Man begins and ends on Christmas Eve and is one of Bret Ratner’s best films.
Batman Returns

Batman Returns is arguably Tim Burton’s best Batman film and it takes place during the holiday season. The cast includes Michael Keaton, Christopher Walken, and the amazing Michelle Pfeiffer. Darkly funny, the visuals on Batman Returns still look great today!
A Diva’s Christmas Carol
Vanessa Williams as a version of Ebenezer Scrooge is a classic Lifetime style holiday movie. A Diva’s Christmas Carol features Williams’ character Ebony, who is so sassy and petty! It’s a great holiday movie that you probably haven’t seen.
Almost Christmas

Almost Christmas tells the festive story of a beloved patriarch who asks his family for one gift this holiday season: to get along. If they can honor that wish and spend five days under the same roof without killing one another, it will be a Christmas miracle. Share the holiday love, laughs, and charm with an all-star cast including Danny Glover, Mo’Nique, JB Smoove, Gabrielle Union, Jessie T. Usher, and Omar Epps.
Just Friends
Ryan Reynolds and Amy Smart play friends who reunite after years of being apart. Just Friends is ridiculous and brings the right amount of humor especially in the Anna Faris scenes.
Nothing Like the Holidays

Nothing Like the Holidays is a funny film about a Puerto Rican family that might be sharing their last Christmas all together. With a star studded Latin cast, Nothing Like the Holidays is about love and second chances.
Last Christmas

Last Christmas is a heartfelt romantic comedy inspired by the unforgettable music of George Michael. Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones) stars as Kate, who works as an elf at a year-round holiday shop. Kate faces an endless streak of bad luck and poor decision-making until she meets Tom (Henry Golding, Crazy Rich Asians), a kind-hearted man with a mysterious past who challenges her cynical world view.
Love the Coopers

LOVE THE COOPERS follows the Cooper clan as four generations of extended family come together for their annual Christmas Eve celebration. As the evening unfolds, a series of unexpected visitors and unlikely events turn the night upside down, leading them all toward a surprising rediscovery of family bonds and the spirit of the holiday.
