Breakfast Review: Mimosas Gourmet in Summerlin Nevada

Tucked away in an unassuming strip mall is one of the best breakfasts in ALL of Las Vegas.  I know, I know, that’s a bold statement right?  But, it’s true! Here is a recap of our Summerlin breakfast at Mimosas Gourmet.

On a recent trip to Las Vegas, we were looking for a restaurant near Summerlin.  After hitting up not one but two places and finding that each one was a wait of over an hour, we ended up at Mimosas Gourmet.  Interestingly enough, there was zero wait so we were a bit nervous to try it!  Turns out we made the best decision! 

 

Breakfast at Mimosas Gourmet Summerlin, Nevada

The restaurant itself isn’t very large and the tables are pretty close together.  There is a large bar that seats around 12-15 people.  Sprinkled throughout the restart are tables but there are also large booths to accommodate larger groups.

I started off with the avocado omelet with hash browns and added in a biscuit instead of toast.  I don’t think I really express just how HUGE the portions are. However, just because the portions are huge doesn’t mean they lack flavor like so many other restaurants that have large portions.  My omelet was light and fluffy and loaded with veggies.  I was able to leave off the sour cream and salsa with no problem and the friendly waitress didn’t even bat an eye at my substitutions.  The hash browns were crispy and delicious but that biscuit takes the place. Believe me when I say that the biscuit was bigger than my hand.  A crusty texture tops a soft and fluffy interior. 

My date had the corned beef hash which had chunks of corned beef and a ton of onions.  Two over-medium eggs topped the hash and it also came with one of those huge biscuits. 

There are several variations of the mimosas offered at this restaurant.  I had a classic orange which was served with fresh squeezed orange juice and a healthy dose of champagne.  It’s a big serving, however, the restaurant offers a jumbo mimosa in a huge glass with two straws.    

We will definitely return to this restaurant to explore more of the menu.  With a friendly and casual vibe, I think that Mimosas Gourmet will turn out to be one of the busiest and most successful Las Vegas breakfast joints!
