If you’re heading to Buena Park, a city in northwestern Orange County, California, get ready for some serious fun! This place is famous for its amazing theme park, entertainment shows, and outdoor activities. But, guess what? There are some awesome hidden gems that most people don’t know about. So, let’s go on a little adventure and check out some of the coolest, lesser-known attractions and hidden gems that Buena Park has to offer!

1. Explore the Nature Trails of Ralph B. Clark Regional Park

Ralph B. Clark Regional Park is a beautiful 104-acre park that offers hiking trails, picnic areas, and a lake for fishing. The park is home to a diverse range of plant and animal life, making it a perfect destination for nature lovers. You can explore the park’s nature trails, which wind through oak woodlands, grassy meadows, and streams. Make sure to bring your camera as you will encounter a variety of birds, reptiles, and mammals along the way.

If you are by the tennis courts,  you’ll see an entrance for a running path on the other side of the street.  It’s part of the park, but a trail that travels into the hilltop. This is a really enjoyable hike with great views.

Note: Parking is around $4 but many people park on the nearby streets.

2. Visit the Buena Park Historical Society

If you are a history buff, make sure to visit the Buena Park Historical Society. The society is located in the Whitaker-Jaynes Estate, which is a historical landmark in the city. The estate was built in 1887 and features Victorian-style architecture. Inside the museum, you will find a collection of photographs, artifacts, and documents that tell the story of Buena Park’s history. The museum also offers guided tours, which provide a more in-depth look into the city’s past.

Check out the “Dreger Clock” which was built by Andrew Dreger Sr. from 1928 to 1933. It showed the time, date, moon phases, and 12 international cities. It was displayed for years in Knott’s Berry Farm. The Buena Park Historical Society purchased the clock, renovated it and now it sits in front of the Historical Society building!

3. Independence Hall of Knott’s Berry Farm

While Knott’s Berry Farm is a well-known theme park, the Independence Hall attraction is often overlooked. The replica at Knott’s Berry Farm was built in 1966 and is located near Knott’s Soak City. It features exhibits and displays related to American history, including documents, artifacts, and furniture from the colonial era.

The replica also has a replica of the famous Liberty Bell, which is located outside of the building. Visitors to Independence Hall at Knott’s Berry Farm can take a self-guided tour of the exhibits and learn about the founding of the United States of America.

4. Indulge at the Sup Noodle Bar

Buena Park is home to many delicious dining options, but Sup Noodle Bar is a hidden gem. The restaurant is a Vietnamese and Peruvian fusion restaurant that offers a unique take on pho soup loaded with fresh ingredients. They also offer lomo salted which is a Peruvian dish and tastes delicious. Be prepared for a long wait and make sure to get on the reservation list!

5. Shop for Bargains at the Buena Park Mall

If you are looking for a shopping experience that is less crowded than other malls in the area, head to the Buena Park Mall. The mall features a variety of stores, including popular retailers like H&M, Macy’s, and Target. The mall also has a food court and a movie theater, making it a perfect destination for a day out with friends or family.

This mall also features a Big Air Trampoline which is perfect for kids and adults. Big Air Trampoline has 17,000 square feet of jumping surfaces including trampoline dodgeball courts, slam dunk courts, foam pits, launch pads, a rock climbing wall, battle beam, and massive freestyle court. 

6. The Cauldron Spirits and Brews Bar

Cauldron Brews and Spirits is a popular bar and lounge located in Buena Park, California. This Buena Park bar offers an extensive selection of craft beers, cocktails, and spirits that are sure to please any palate. The atmosphere of the bar is cozy and inviting, with dim lighting and comfortable seating options that make it the perfect spot for a night out with friends or a romantic date.
