Hotel Review: Absolute Bliss Santorini
I started researching our trip to Imerovigli 2 years before we actually got there. Every review I read said that it was a quiet town tucked away from the hustle of Fira and the large crowds in Oia. Absolute Bliss Imerovigli popped out as a lovely place with stunning views of the caldera, so we booked a suite in hopes of some relaxation and to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary. Read on for a full Absolute Bliss Imerovigli hotel review!
What to Expect at Absolute Bliss Imerovigli
Absolute Bliss Imerovigli is about 20 minutes away from the Santorini airport. We had arranged for a taxi to pick us up but after 20 minutes of waiting with no one to get us, we decided to just grab a taxi ourselves and get ourself to the hotel.
We arrived early at Absolute Bliss Imerovigli hotel, check in time was 2pm but we arrived around 9am. The hotel was still quiet but the manager Sofia greeted us and asked if we had eaten breakfast. Since we hadn’t she told us to leave it to her. Within 15 minutes a huge spread was brought out which we ate on the main terrace under some thick blankets since it was chilly that morning. We were blown away by the amount of food and the freshness of everything. Right then and there I smiled and P and told him that we had made the right decision.
Absolute Bliss Imerovigli Suites
After breakfast Sofia told us our suite was ready and gave us a tour of the hotel. The first impression of the Elegance Suite just stunned us. The suite had its own private terrace with a hot tub. The room was beautiful, white with various shades of blue accents. Every single day the space was cleaned immaculately. We appreciated the toiletries which were by Korres (a famous Greek brand) the extensive choices of tea and coffee and just how quiet the room was.
Absolute Bliss Imerovigli has an on-site cook that takes care of orders that come in during the day. Every afternoon we received a menu for breakfast and all we had to do was circle the items we wanted. Favorites were the veggie omelet, pastry basket, greek yogurt and fresh squeezed mixed juice. I could literally eat Greek yogurt with honey and walnuts every day and not get tired of it. Forget about the stuff you find in American groceries, this Greek yogurt was the real deal.
The little touches and the excellent service make this resort 5 stars. We were brought complementary bottles of chilled wine and Sofia and her staff made us reservations to restaurants and excursions. And they were also scarce when we wanted to sit poolside or out on our private terrace for the day. There are butterflies all over the resort which was a nice touch since I love butterflies, both art pieces and actual monarchs buzzing around.
The views outside our suite were just spectacular. We often watched the fiery sunsets from the privacy of our terrace with a glass of Greek wine. When we were sore from walking we’d soak in the hot tub. Naps were peaceful as the entire resort is just quiet and subdued. It was perfect.
The bus stop to Fira is nearby and from there you can get very reasonably priced buses all over the island.
I’m so glad you had such a great stay. Love the photos.
Sigh.
Right!? Santorini was so lovely! Thanks for visiting!
