Unique Activities in Napa Sonoma: Olive Oil tasting

Fans of olive oil have several tasting options in Napa and Sonoma. The first is Round Pond Estate which offers a tour of their harvest methods before tasting all of their blends. Oxbow Market in Napa also has a olive oil tasting bar run by the Olive Press in their food court.

Unique Activities in Napa Sonoma: Bottle Rock

BottleRock is one of the premier music festivals in Napa.  Gourmet food trucks, wineries pouring and in the last two years, this music festival has attracted some of the hottest bands in the country.

BottleRock kicks off every May and often sells out so visitors need to plan their trips in advance!

Unique Activities in Napa Sonoma: Vodka Tasting

Hanson’s of Sonoma is quickly becoming one of the most unique tastings in Sonoma.  For $25 guests can tour the distillery and try at least three of the infused vodkas.  The staff is friendly and helpful and the tasting room is pristine.  Parking can be limited as the facility shares a parking lot with the Ceja tasting room.

Hanson’s also offers a specialized tasting that includes a cocktail mixing lesson!

Unique Activities in Napa Sonoma: Hike

Napa Sonoma is home to many hiking trails.  One popular hike is a leisurely trek around Lake Hennessy or visitors can checkout more strenuous hikes like the Robert Stevenson trail. It’s just north of Calistoga and the five-mile hike to the top of Mt. St. Helena offers stunning views.

Unique Activities: Balloon Ride

Enjoy a floating ride over the Napa Valley in a hot air balloon. All companies launch their balloons super early in the morning for the best weather conditions. While flights usually take about one hour, plan for a 3-4 hour experience and pack layers as it tends to be cold in the morning in Napa.
