The Setting Inn: A Hidden Gem in Napa!

While researching a hotel for a weekend Napa getaway, I almost went with the tried and true Andaz Hotel in downtown Napa.  I decided to research lesser-known boutique hotels and the beautiful Setting Inn Napa Valley caught my eye.  After communicating with the hotel front desk, I booked a suite which turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve made!  Read on for a full The Setting Inn review and why I think it’s a wonderful hidden gem in Napa.

The Setting Inn Review and Tips

Check-in

Check-in at The Setting Inn Napa Valley was a breeze as the front desk host was waiting for our arrival.  We were able to check in an hour early which was nice as we wanted to drop off our stuff and head to our tasting at Frank Family.  The staff explained how breakfast worked and gave us cell phone if we had any questions or issues.  That my friend is stellar service!

Grounds

It was raining the weekend we went but during a break in the rain, I wandered the Setting Inn grounds.  There are two main communal areas, a barn with seating and an outdoor seating area with a fire pit.  It looks like an absolutely lovely place to relax during the summertime.  I loved the landscape with was a mixture of a large lawn and some drought-resistant accents.

Room

Our Setting Inn Napa Valley suite was large with a mounted television and gas fireplace.  There were several luxury amenities like powered blinds and heated bathroom floors.  Everything felt very clean and updated, think Restoration Hardware furniture with modern hardware and fixtures.  The wardrobe in the room was stocked with slippers and robes.  One of my favorite things was waking up and opening up all of the blinds to see the vineyard across the road.  The morning fog obscured a lot of the view but it was still absolutely gorgeous.

Our room had a patio with a couch and table on it.  While the patio in our suite faced the vineyard there was a road adjacent to the room, but the room is thoroughly insulated so we didn’t hear any car noise.  We spent the majority of the time in front of the fireplace or soaking in the huge tub.  It was such a quiet and relaxing space to unwind!

Breakfast

One of the best perks of The Setting Inn is clearly the delivered breakfast every morning.  A box of fresh pastries from Bouchon Bakery and fresh squeezed orange juice in mason jars were on the doorstep.  Delicious!  There was also a stocked kitchenette area so my husband made us freshly pressed coffee each morning, and the hotel even provided fresh cream.   The fridge also had complimentary wine, soda and water.
