We LOVE the San Jose drive-in AKA West Wind Capitol Drive-in. It’s an affordable great option for a family movie date during Covid quarantine. We are lucky that we are near one of the few drive-ins in the entire state of California. It’s a vintage type of fun so read on what to know about the San Jose drive-in!

What you need to know About the San Jose Drive-in
General admission is $8.50 plus $2 for each child aged 5-11. Children 4 and under are always free! The drive-in offers a Tuesday family fun night and the price is $5.50 per person and kids 5-11 are $2.00. Pets are not permitted at the San Jose drive-in but service dogs are always welcome.
Be sure to get there early to get a good spot and avoid the long lines to get in. Gates open 2 hours before showtime at the San Jose drive-in! If you are worried about your car battery dying the drive-in recommends that you turn on your car a few times during the movies. They also offer a complimentary jump start if your car battery happens to die on-site.
Don’t worry about rain, the San Jose West Wind drive-in is open rain or shine. Unfortunately, they don’t allow BBQs due to fire regulations so make sure to bring in only cooked food. Speaking of things to not bring, the San Jose West Wind Capitol drive-in does not allow weapons, drugs of any kind, or alcoholic beverages.
To have the best experience, it’s important to be prepared. First, make sure you have the right snacks. Popcorn, candy, and other movie theatre staples like nachos and pretzels are all great options.
You can even bring your own cozy blankets and pillows to make the experience even more comfortable. Next, it’s important to get there early to get the best spot. This ensures you have the best view of the movie, and it also gives you time to set up your car and get comfortable.
Finally, don’t forget to turn off your headlights and keep the volume low during the movie.
