5 Things To Love About Disneyland in the Fall
Fall is one of my favorite times to visit Disneyland. We just got back a few weeks ago and it had me thinking, there is something so special about Disneyland in the Fall. It’s a sweet spot, right before the Christmas holiday rush and after school starts that the parks are definitely less crowded and it’s worth going during the week. The weather is cooler, the crowds are lighter and there is so much to see and do that you can’t experience early in the year! Here are 5 things to love about Disneyland in the Fall!
Things to Love About Disneyland in the Fall
1. The Sweets
Disneyland offers so many delicious sweets during this time. We tried the glitter-dusted beignets, the various rice crispy treats, and doughnuts throughout the park! Make sure to head over to the Disney Parks Blog where they love to tease new treats!
2. The Villains
Fall is the time when I see the most villains out and about. We saw the Queen of Hearts, Cruella De Vil, Frollo and Captain Hook throughout the park. It’s also the time when Jack Skellington and Sally are seen in their photo areas, although their lines can be very long!
Our very favorite villain is the Evil Queen who is completely outrageous. In the photo above she told Kiki to tell her Dad that she was a strong independent woman which cracked us all up!
3. Holiday Themed Rides and Restaurants
The haunted mansion is one of my favorite rides and when it’s decked out with the Nightmare Before Christmas scenes, it’s such a better ride. Lots of different areas, rides, and restaurants get makeovers!
Do not leave the resort without seeing Radiator Springs and Carthay Circle done up in a fun Halloween style.
In Disney California Adventure Park, Plaza de la Familia returns with its colorful celebration honoring the strength of families. Head to Paradise Gardens through Nov. 2.
Inspired by the tradition of Dia de los Muertos, the festivities include live entertainment, delicious foods, crafts, and interactive experiences. Be sure to grab a snack and then watch, “A Musical Celebration of Coco,” which is presented several times daily.
4. Oogie Boogie Bash
Oogie Boogie Bash is an event where the park closes to regular guests and those with party tickets can trick or treat and go on certain rides. There is a special spooky parade and it’s fun seeing all the different costumes. It’s also one of the rare times that adults can dress up in costumes and enter the park!
This year they will add Agatha Harkness from WandaVision and Agatha All Along as a villain in the Parks!
5. Christmas in the Park
I can’t mention Fall and not share some Christmas details. Late fall (November) is when the entire resort enters its Christmas season. Main Street becomes a winter wonderland and there are a ton of holiday-themed foods that debut. There are also tons of new souvenirs that are released every year, like new Mickey ears and Disneyland jerseys!
Disney California Adventure also puts on a show and the characters like Chip and Dale and Mickey are dressed in holiday attire. Also, make sure not to miss meeting Santa across from the water ride, tucked away on the Adventure trail. They usually have a cookie decorating table set up too!
One day we are going to make it to the Not so scary Halloween party!! And Christmas theme is beautiful!
I’ve never been to Disney in the Fall, but this post makes me want to. I love the little mummy Mickey!
I would love to see them do Christmas! Like, how much more magical can life get!?
I haven’t been to Disneyland since I was a baby. I grew up going to Disney World, but now that I live on the west coast, I definitely need to make a trip there. It sounds like fall is a great time to go!
Aw man this makes me so excited to take our kids!!!!
Sounds like so much fun! We’ve never been at Halloween.
