Tips for Meeting Santa at Disney’s California Adventure

On a recent trip to Disney’s California Adventure our friends revealed that they were going to meet Santa at the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail.  I stopped in my tracks because 1.  I had no idea you could meet Santa there and 2. We have NEVER stepped foot in this area.  I know I know, how can I be a Disney fan and not have my kids run around this area?  I have no excuse!  On our last trip, however, we got to experience the area.   Here are some tips for meeting Santa at Disney’s California Adventure.

1.  Head there early in the morning!

We headed over to see Santa first thing in the morning.  The line was long but I think it was because the staff doesn’t rush your experience.  For instance, both the elves and Santa chatted with our kids and then did a group photo with their friends.  I felt the urge to rush everyone but the Cast Members were so nice, they didn’t hurry us along.

2.  Interact with the elves!

The elves are so much fun!  We compared shoes and chatted about the rides we were looking forward to in the park.

If you’re planning a Disneyland vacation, make sure to use Get Away Today– they offer the best prices and services. Plus, you can save an extra $10 off packages with promo code BLISS.

3.  Stop in the area after Santa and decorate cookies!

There is an area adjacent to the exit of the Santa line that had hot cocoa and cookie decorating kids for about $8.  It was a great break from the Santa line, my 4-year-old was getting antsy so we went to sit down and she decorated cookies for about half an hour.
