Best Breakfast Spots in San Jose

San Jose is the smaller sister to San Francisco and it’s a place that I know like the back of my hand. There are a ton of tasty breakfast spots to visit in San Jose but I’ve chosen the very best options that would appeal to families who travel. Here are my thoughts on the best breakfast spots in San Jose!

Scrambl’Z

Scrambl’z has been a San Jose staple since it’s opening about 10 years ago. Their pancakes are fluffy, they have excellent service and there is a VW bus that you can sit inside the restaurant!

Weekends are crazy here so expect to wait to get seated for breakfast or brunch. Try the berry waffles or the egg benedicts!

Cafe San Jose

Cafe San Jose is tucked away in a older shopping center in Willow Glen.  Willow Glen is home to many breakfast spots but Cafe San Jose is a old school staple with many loyal customers.  It’s a tiny diner but it’s cozy and the wait staff is excellent. They aren’t stingy with the coffee refills and their food comes out fresh and piping hot.

Try the pancakes and the wide variety of mimosas!

BILLS Cafe

Bills Cafe has several locations but my two favorites are the Cottle and Meridien locations. Bills are always crowded on the weekends but these two locations usually have a shorter wait time than the Willow Glen location. During the week Bills has mini specials which are slightly smaller versions of their pancakes and omelettes. Try the egg skillets or the California omelette!

CAFE Gourmet

Cafe Gourmet is a hidden Willow Glen gem! They serve Verve coffee and often times there are affordable specials. The restaurant shares a parking lots with several other businesses so mornings can be a challenge to find a spot. Go for the friendly service and the carne asada eggs benedict!

Have you visited any of what I think are the best breakfast spots in San Jose? What would you add to the list?

  1. We like the Cup and Saucer inPrinceton Plaza. They have great breakfasts at low prices and you get a large meal. They also have daily specials for breakfast , lunch and dinner. Very large portions and very good home cooking. jerry and mary
