All Disney theme park fans know that a day at Disney in the scorching sun can put a huge damper on your day. Even at Disneyland, days in the 80’s can feel super hot due to the lack of shade around the walking paths. Disney’s Aulani has lots of shade near the resort but on the beach, there aren’t many umbrellas to block that hot Hawaiian sun. To maximize your days at Disney in the sun, here is the one item needed at Disney!
When the kids started complaining I figured I needed an item to bring that was lightweight, could fit in a mini backpack and would provide relief. I discovered Frogg Toggs Chilly Pad Cooling Towels.

What’s a chilly pad?
It’s a lightweight microfiber towel! Soaking the towel in hot or cold water will allow Chilly Pad to activate quickly and cool up to 30 degrees below ambient air temp. The first time we took it to Disneyland, it was 90 degrees and everyone was miserable. I remembered that I had these in the stroller and I went to the nearest bathroom to soak them. It took forever because the water at my sink was barely trickling out so by the time I came out everyone was more cranky. I slapped these on the heads and necks of my family and BOOM, instant relief!
Frogg Togg Chilly Pads are the one thing I get asked about often when I’m rewetting them at Disneyland. Usually someone will ask if it’s sold at the park which it’s not, but it’s under $10 and worth an extra order from Amazon. Trust me it’s worth adding to your suitcase, and they don’t take up much space to bring multiple!
We’ve used them for sports games, picnics, theme park visits, trips to the beach- basically anywhere where we know it’s going to be hot with limited shade. Kiki has napped under one in a stroller, P has worn them on his bald head for relief, and I usually wrap them around my neck when walking the parks.

Helpful tips for the Frogg Togg Chilly Pad (THE ONE ITEM NEEDED AT DISNEY!):
Rinse and let dry before using them for the first time. Sometimes they can have a weird smell right out of the package.
Be careful pulling them apart while they are dry. Get them totally stoaked before attempting to open a chilly pad that has been rolled or bunched up to dry. It will rip!
Take the time to get it fully soaked to get relief for a longer period of time.
If your Chilly Pad gets dirty, just wring it out and throw it in the washer!
Chilly pads can go in the fridge just not in the freezer!
Let it dry before storing. it will mold if it doesn’t get fully dry!
A Frogg Togg Chilly Pad is the ONE item needed on a hot day at Disney. It’s convenient, small enough to pack and cheap enough to invest in more than one. Have you ever heard of these? Let me know in the comments!
