In the coming year, Disneyland is bringing back one of my all-time favorite events. Disneyland After Dark events are a special ticketed event that allows you to spend time at the parks after they’ve closed for the night. These late-night ticket events are perfect for peak season or when you want to avoid crowds. During these After Dark events, guests can get unlimited downloads (digital only) for their PhotoPass pictures during the event, and experience rides with shorter wait times than during the day! If this sounds like a fantastic opportunity for you, here is how to stay in Disneyland After Dark in 2023.
Disneyland After Dark: 80s Nite:
If you are an 80s fan than you are going to love 80s night at Disneyland! You can purchase tickets up until the day before the event if they are available online for this event. During this event, you’ll throwback to the 80s with fun movies, music, food, and other iconic fads from the 80s era. Dress up in your favorite legwarmers and neon colors and have a nostalgic time at Disney. Guests of all ages can attend this event, and there are special activities that you’ll only find at this event!
Some of these include:
Character meet-and-greets (wearing special attire)
Photo ops
Event-themed menus
Limited release merchandise
Special keepsakes
Totally Minnie dance party
A special fireworks show
Disneyland After Dark: Sweethearts’ Nite:
If you are looking for a fun romantic evening with a touch of pixie dust, you will want to visit this after-hours event! This special Disneyland event has two different nights with some of the same special activities as the other after-hours event include fireworks, photo ops, meet-and-greets, limited menu, and a fireworks show. What’s unique for this after-hours event, is the ability to do the Waltz beside your favorite Disney characters at a special ball near the It’s a Small World ride!
Disneyland After Dark: Princess Nite
If you are a Disney Princess fan, you won’t want to miss Princess nite at Disneyland! The same things apply as other events, but this event is focused on all things Disney Princess. The meet-and-greets are going to have aPrincess focus, and there is a dance party hosted by Venellope von Schweetz! Costumes that show off your favorite characters are encouraged for this event!
There is just something awesome about Disney villains. Sure, they are the bad guys of the films, but they are also so cool! Spend the evening with some of your favorite Disney villains in this fun after-hours event! This event works just like the others, but with a little bit of an evil twist! Everything has a touch of evil to it making these a bit spooky for the younger kids but enjoyable time for adults!
WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT DISNEYLAND AFTER DARK FESTIVITIES
Tickets are $139 and do not include entrance to the Parks during the day.
Each event is 4 hours long but your ticket include a 3 hour pre-party park mix-in
Disneyland Resort encouraged themed attire for these events (regular Adult costume guidelines are still enforced)
If you feel like you are tired of dealing with the heat in the summer or you want to avoid the crowds on your next trip to Disneyland, hopefully, these After Dark events will be the perfect way to help! These are enjoyable events to attend, so probably one of them will work for you!

Nestled in Fantasyland and directly across from the Casey Jr’s Circus train, sits the Red Rose Taverne. One a recent trip to Disneyland, we were all starving so I hustled directly to the Red Rose Taverne to get the kids a quick and tasty breakfast. The Red Rose Taverne used to be named the Village…
After visiting Galaxy’s Edge several times with the family, I realized there are certain things I look forward to! A visit with Chewy, a rondo wrap, and an ice-cold Batuu-themed drink are the things I always do! You might have heard good and bad things about Galaxy’s Edge but like every other Disney themed land,…
