How to Sign Up for the Make Your Own Mickey Ears Activity
The first step is to sign up for the event. Making your own Mickey ears is considered a premium activity at Aulani Resort. To make your own Mickey ears at Disney Aulani, you will need to visit the Pau Hana Room, which is located in the Waikolohe Valley pool area. This is where you will find the sign-up and the crafting station where you can create your own Mickey ears. Aulani recommends signing up in advance. On our last trip, we signed up around 7:30 am for late morning class. The cost is the purchase of the ears and the price is $26 plus tax for unlighted ears and $36 plus tax for lighted ears.
Note: The resort Cast Members will ask you to pick out your supplies while you sign up so make sure to bring all members of your party who will be participating.
For this premium activity to choose your ears. You can choose between the classic wire ears or the more whimsical light-up ones. There are also special edition blue DVC ears that you can choose from if you are a DVC member.
Choosing Make Your Own Mickey Ears Accessories
There are many different materials and decorations available at the crafting station. You can choose from a variety of fabrics flowers and leaves and little accessories like a ukulele. Once you have decided on the ears and accessories, these items will be set out when you turn to the room for your class. The cost includes the ears plus 5 accessory pieces. The green leaves don’t count toward the 5 you can use as many as you need! Because we stayed near Disneyland, strings representing webs and plastic candy corn were available to choose from.
When we returned there were tables set up with our names on them. Each station had a pair of ears and a bag with accessories. The stations also had hot glue guns set up. It’s important to note that the Make Your Own Mickey ears class requires an adult to assist kids aged 6-12.
The Pau Hana room is staffed by Disney Cast Members who are there to assist you in making your Mickey ears. They can also help you with any questions you may have about the process or tips to make your ears stand out
Once you have completed your Mickey ears, you can wear them throughout the resort. Cast Members stopped our kids to compliment their ears. You can also take them home as a souvenir of your trip. Making your own Mickey ears is a great way to have fun and create a one-of-a-kind Disney experience.
Make sure you prepare them properly for travel. The ears are fairly thin and fragile. We packed them carefully but when we got home they were bent. Next time I will bring a sturdy box to back them in. Also if the ears lose their shape or get messed up, you can go back and Cast Members can reshape them for you.
In addition to making your own Mickey ears, there are many other activities and experiences available at Disney Aulani. You can enjoy the beach, go snorkeling, attend a luau, or relax at the spa. There are also many dining options available, ranging from quick-service restaurants (Ulu Cafe) to fine dining experiences (Ama Ama.)

Any information would be much appreciated!
