1. Community Room DVD Rentals

2. Menehune Trail (Indoor)
There is an option to do the indoor Menehune Trail for kids. The Menehune Adventure Trail is a scavenger hunt for children that is typically outside. Kids get clues on iPads and search for several hidden magical items!
3. Aunty’s Beach House
One day when it was a downpour the entire afternoon, we sent the kids to Aunty’s Beach House and then went to the Olelo Room for drinks and appetizers. Aunty’s Beach House has a ton of games and activities for children. Sign up early in the morning to ensure space is reserved for your child!
4. Ukulele Lessons
The Daily ‘Iwa will have a schedule of activities and usually, Ukulele Lessons are available during a rainy day. It’s a fun activity for families and since it’s always held indoors, it’s a perfect way to kill some time during a rainstorm.
5. Character Greetings
Aulani will move the character meet and greets indoors or under awnings if the rain is particularly hard. Call the character line to find out the times and new locations for the character meets! While we were at the resort, Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, and Moana were available for character meet-and-greets.
While it was raining they were held in the community room and the lobby of the resort.
6. Laniwai Spa
If it rains at Disney Aulani, consider treating yourself to a rejuvenating spa experience at Laniwai Spa. Indulge in a massage, facial, or body treatment, and let the skilled therapists melt away your stress.
The spa also features hydrotherapy gardens, steam rooms, and a vitality pool for the ultimate relaxation.
7. Explore the Maka’ala Lobby
Take the opportunity to explore the beautiful Maka’ala Lobby, which showcases stunning Hawaiian artwork and architecture. Admire the traditional wood carvings, relax in the comfortable seating areas, and wander throughout the lobby and shopping areas of the resort.
Check out Hale Manu and Kalepa’s which are the stores in the lobby of Aulani. This is where you can find unique Disney merchandise, Hawaiian apparel, jewelry, and more. We love to browse through the selections and find the perfect souvenirs or gifts to bring back home.
8. Book a character meal at Makahiki
Makahiki is a signature table service that serves a fixed-price three-course meal for breakfast and evening at Aulani. Breakfast is the only option to experience a character meal as Makahiki is the only on-site option where guests can eat and hang out with Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Pluto and Goofy.
